STRESS-LESS ACTIVITY: THE “LET IT GO” BUBBLE EXERCISE

Letting go of anger is challenging for children, teens, and adults. I created a visualization that involves placing the “letting-go situation” into a bubble and sending it away. This visualization, for all ages, is a wonderful way to get rid of negative feelings. The following Bubble Blowing exercise is an excerpt taken from Indigo Dreams: Garden of Wellness CD.

Imagine that you have a bubble wand in your hand. Blow a bubble. See your bubble in your mind. Can you see your bubble? Is it sparkling in the sunlight? Is it big and round? Is it filled with air? Now, let’s put a word into the bubble. Put the word angry, or the feeling of being angry into your bubble. See the letters floating inside of your bubble or just see a color that means anger in your bubble. Do you see your letters? Do you see your color? Now give it a gentle tap with your hand. Push your bubble into the air. Do you see it bounce off of your hand? Now push it higher. There it goes. See it heading for the sky. Watch it go. You bubble is floating further and further away from you and it is taking your anger with it.
